Collaboration

Miratek Elektrik and DMT Muhendislik collaborate on transformer substations, automation and SCADA integration for industrial facilities. At the heart of the collaboration are medium voltage (MV) protection relay coordination and the commissioning of on-site power infrastructure so that it operates remotely monitorable, standards-compliant and without interruption. A holistic approach has been adopted, spanning engineering design, on-site installation, testing and commissioning, and periodic maintenance.

Challenge

For transformer substations in industrial facilities to operate in harmony with processes that demand power continuity, the MV protection system must be correctly coordinated and field data must be observable from a central monitoring layer. If protection functions are not configured selectively, a fault can de-energize a far larger area than necessary; incomplete integration of the automation and SCADA layer can delay the detection of anomalies. The core challenge was therefore to design both the field hardware and the monitoring software to be mutually consistent, compliant with the applicable standards and easy to maintain.

The Miratek Solution

In its collaboration with DMT Muhendislik, Miratek handled transformer substation design, MV switchgear cubicle installation and protection relay coordination as a single engineering discipline. Protection relays were coordinated with selectivity and graded protection principles in mind; relay settings and protection functions were verified against site conditions. On the industrial automation side, field devices were connected to the PLC/RTU layer so that data was transferred to the SCADA system over standard communication protocols. Critical parameters of the transformer substation and MV system thus became centrally monitorable. The entire process — design, installation, testing, commissioning and post-commissioning periodic maintenance — was carried out under ISO 9001:2015 quality management and an occupational safety approach.
