Collaboration

We maintain an engineering partnership with Tegnatia on the design and on-site implementation of medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV) power distribution infrastructure for large-scale infrastructure projects such as motorways, tunnels and airports. At Miratek, across transport infrastructure where geometry is challenging and uninterrupted power is critical, we plan and execute the full process — from preparing single-line diagrams to installing MV switchgear cubicles and transformer substations, from overhead line and underground cable installation to commissioning — in full compliance with the relevant technical standards and TEDAS specifications.

Challenge

Transport infrastructure such as motorways, tunnels and airports comprises critical facilities where power continuity is directly linked to life safety and safe operations. In these projects, the distribution infrastructure must be managed alongside long line distances, difficult route conditions, heavy site traffic and construction packages progressing in parallel. In tunnels, loads such as ventilation, lighting and fire detection must be supplied without interruption; at airport and motorway sites, feeder points spread across wide areas must be designed in a coordinated, standards-compliant manner. In the work carried out with Tegnatia, the core challenge was to consolidate this multi-component infrastructure into a single-line architecture that matched site realities, remained sustainable and fully complied with the regulations.

The Miratek Solution

At Miratek, together with Tegnatia, we adopted an engineering approach that integrates design and on-site implementation under one roof. Following site surveys and quantity take-offs, we produced the MV/LV single-line diagrams, protection relay coordination and grounding design in accordance with the relevant IEC standards and the TEDAS and EMRA (EPDK) specifications. During implementation, we carried out the transformer substation and MV switchgear cubicle installations, overhead line and underground cable works, heavy-current installations and commissioning under a coordinated site plan. To avoid clashes with other infrastructure packages progressing in parallel, we synchronized the fabrication and installation program with the site schedule, and completed testing, measurement and documentation in full at every stage to ensure a traceable handover process.

Results

  • Fully standards-compliant MV/LV power distribution infrastructure at motorway, tunnel and airport sites
  • A coordinated, traceable handover process achieved by running design and site implementation from a single source
  • Uninterrupted, reliable power supply infrastructure for critical loads
  • A sustainable engineering partnership that scales into new infrastructure projects

Project Scope

On what types of projects does Miratek collaborate with Tegnatia?+

Miratek works with Tegnatia on large-scale transport infrastructure projects such as motorways, tunnels and airports, covering the design and on-site implementation of medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV) power distribution infrastructure. The scope includes preparing single-line diagrams, installing transformer substations and MV switchgear cubicles, overhead line and underground cable installation, and commissioning.

Which standards and regulations govern these infrastructure projects?+

The projects are carried out under the relevant IEC standards for medium voltage systems, TEDAS technical specifications and EMRA (EPDK) regulations. Miratek maintains full compliance with quality, environmental and occupational safety requirements through its ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 management systems.

How is power continuity secured on motorway and tunnel projects?+

For critical loads such as tunnel ventilation, lighting and fire detection, protection relay coordination, grounding design and an appropriate supply architecture are engineered. Testing, measurement and documentation are completed in full before commissioning, targeting an uninterrupted and reliable power infrastructure for critical loads.

Does Miratek handle both design and site implementation?+

Yes. Miratek runs the process from a single source — from site survey and quantity take-off to single-line diagram design, and from MV switchgear cubicle and transformer substation installation to commissioning. This integrated approach eliminates gaps between design and site implementation, ensuring a coordinated and traceable handover.
