In the partnership with Toreks, the industrial facility's low voltage infrastructure was addressed from the ground up: a facility-specific reactive power compensation panel was designed and manufactured, the existing electrical distribution was revised, and the LV systems were modernized in line with current standards. The work followed a holistic engineering approach centered on reactive power management and power quality improvement, with production continuity as a priority.

Challenge

Electrical infrastructures that grow over time and expand piecemeal in industrial production environments often fall behind current standards. At the Toreks facility as well, the priorities were modernizing the existing low voltage distribution, bringing reactive power consumption under control, and raising power quality to a level that would protect the production equipment. In such projects, the core challenge is to make the panels and distribution infrastructure safe, traceable, and fully standards-compliant while keeping the facility's production flow running with the least possible interruption. In addition, the compensation solution had to be sized according to the facility's actual load profile and operating regime.

The Miratek Solution

Miratek began the work by assessing the facility's existing electrical infrastructure and load characteristics. Based on this assessment, a facility-specific reactive power compensation panel was designed and manufactured in accordance with the IEC 61439 panel standard. The low voltage distribution infrastructure was revised and the existing panels were brought into line with current standards; connections, protection, and selectivity logic were reviewed and modernized. The compensation solution for reactive power management and power factor correction was configured according to the facility's operating regime, while power quality and harmonic effects were addressed with reference to the IEC 61000 family. The manufactured panels were installed on site, commissioned, and verified through functional tests. The entire process was conducted within the framework of the ISO 9001 quality, ISO 14001 environmental, and ISO 45001 occupational health and safety management systems.
